I am creating Arbor so that homeowners have access to faster feedback, can start accessing professional design in a way that feels affordable to them. Also, because I see Arbor as a way for designers to scale their own businesses and meet new clients who appreciate similar design styles.

In October 2021, we had an overnight flood that completely destroyed our newly purchased home. My family was displaced for over a year and we decided to turn lemons into lemonade by going beyond restoration and remodeling it to become our dream home. As we figured out how to proceed, my husband and I struggled to make design and architectural decisions with confidence. We hired an interior designer, who was amazing, but I struggled to find an efficient relationship with her since our timelines were constantly in flux and rushed. Often, I had an urgent question that I wanted to get right, but needed an answer to within 2 - 3 days rather than weeks.

I know many homeowners want expert guidance, but struggle to figure out where to start, who to partner with, and how to spend their budget between design and materials. Arbor Design Advice helps homeowners source feedback on specific topics as they surface, which would have been incredibly helpful to me this past year. I also want to help designers build their network of potential clients through micro engagements that also drive remote, incremental income.
